Mission Statement

The Florida Marine Aquarium Society’s mission is to bring together the expertise and experience of its members , with a purpose to share this information with others. By providing this wealth of information to all, the society strives to protect the quality of life for marine organisms maintained in aquaria. Creating an awareness of natural marine ecosystems in order to protect and share them with future generations.

2010 Frag Swap

Preparations are underway for our Annual Frag Swap. The date for the event is May 22nd 12:00 – 5:00pm. The event will be held at South Plantation High School, located at: 1300 SW 54th Avenue Plantation, Florida 33317.  This is the same location where our monthly meetings are held. We are expecting between 200 and 400 hobbyists to attend the event. The event will include the following:

  • Larger Location and Display Space
  • Manufacturer Representation (Ushio, New Life Spectrum, Two Little Fishies, VIP Sea Water to name a few…)
  • Large number of Marine Hobbyists on site
  • Buy sell trade livestock and equipment with other aquarists.
  • Authors on premises: Julian Sprung and Tony Vargas
  • The event will be advertised in aquarium shops and on websites.
  • Fresh saltwater will be provided
